Elizabeth Gatter
Elizabeth Gatter is a native of Mobile, AL, with a diverse background in voice performance, pedagogy, keyboard performance, and church music. She currently serves at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Augusta, GA, the largest church in the diocese. Prior to her current position, she served as the Cathedral Musician in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of South Alabama, a Master of Music degree in Voice Pedagogy from Shenandoah Conservatory, and is currently pursuing a D.M.A. in Voice and Worship Leadership from the University of Mobile. She also holds pedagogical certifications from the University of North Texas, Shenandoah Conservatory’s CCM Institute, and Somatic Voicework™.
Elizabeth served on the leadership team of the Mobile Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and remains active in voice pedagogy and choral organizations. Most recently, she has received invitations to present at the Alabama ACDA, Louisiana ACDA, NC ACDA’s Summer Seminar series, The Voice Foundation, and the University of Mobile. Elizabeth also recently presented on church music topics at the National ACDA Conference in Dallas in March 2025.
As a vocalist, Elizabeth has performed extensively in collegiate and professional opera productions and was selected as the Madame Rose-Palmai Tenser Developing Young Artist with Mobile Opera for two consecutive years. In 2019, she was featured as a soloist at the Kennedy Center’s Page-to-Stage Festival, premiering songs from new musical theatre. In her private voice studio, Elizabeth specializes in teaching avocational adult singers.
Elizabeth has been married to Tony since 2023. Together, they have two cats, Zen and Xan, and one dog, Claire.

Christopher Powell
Christopher Powell is a Chicago based musician specializing in organ, piano, composition, and jazz. Christopher is the Director of Sacred Music and Organist at the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown in Libertyville, IL, and the Organist of North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, IL. From 2014 to 2021, Christopher served as Music Director and Organist at Christ Church Cathedral in Mobile, AL, and from 2009 to 2014, he was Director of Music Ministries at St. Paul Catholic Church in Pensacola, Florida, where he oversaw the restoration and installation of the last surviving pipe organ (1868) by Moritz Baumgarten, Jr. Also active in the world of Jewish music, Christopher served as the Anthony and Alma Fisher Music Director at Springhill Avenue Temple in Mobile, AL from 2018 until 2022.
Christopher studied organ performance at The Juilliard School with Grammy Award-winning organist, Paul Jacobs, and at the University of West Florida with Lynne Lauderdale. He has also performed in masterclasses and lessons with Alan Morrison, Ken Cowan, Wilma Jensen, Cameron Carpenter, and Stephen Roberts. Also a composer, Christopher holds a diploma with honors in harmony from the European American Musical Alliance’s Nadia Boulanger Summer Institute, where he was a student of David Conte, himself a student of Boulanger and Aaron Copland. Christopher is also the recipient of silver and bronze medals in composition from the Global Music Awards competition. His work ranges from opera and chamber music to functional liturgical music. In 2023, he premiered an original opera, "Immaculata: The Passion of St. Maximilian Kolbe."
As a collaborative pianist, Christopher has worked with singers and instrumentalists in rehearsal and recital and served on faculty at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. His experience also includes serving as répétiteur for professional and university productions, and working as a staff pianist for the University of Mobile and Mobile Opera in Mobile, AL, as well as répétiteur for Opera Huntsville in Huntsville, AL. Christopher has also served as a staff pianist for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS)
